LDG Datum Plays Key Role in €300 million Janssen Sciences Expansion
Working with contractor John Sisk & Sons, LDG Datum provided vibration, noise and dust monitoring services throughout the construction of Janssen Biologics €300 million expansion project.
Janssen broke ground on the expansion of their biologics manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy, County Cork, in October 2017. To meet customer demand, the expansion is designed to increase production capacity and, in the process, will create 450 new employment opportunities during construction and 200 further opportunities upon commissioning.
LDG Datum’s role was to monitor vibration, noise and dust around the perimeter and throughout construction by delivering the highly accurate and compliant systems the client has full confidence in.
LDG Datum’s monitoring exercises provided the vital control measures essential to ensuring the project kept in line with the planning design. Technology implemented included Instantel Micromate vibration monitors, Instantel Sound Level Microphones and Bergerhoff Dust stands.
“Janssen’s plan to expand its current facility in Ringaskiddy shows their extended commitment to the people of County Cork. Increased investment will drive up living standards for the community and wider economy. Main Contractor SISK approached us regarding this project and the stringent planning requirements. We designed a suitable system to comply with the requirements that generated daily updates on the impact this construction process had on the environment.”
